too bad, i’m still 22, i bet they will be strict about their requirements rite..

    • dearmarintan May 3, 2011 at 12:19 PM Reply

Yes, they are very strict about the recruitment. However, if you’re gonna be 23 y.o in 2-3 months from the date of the interview, I suggest you to apply because one of my friends made it to Qatar. She was 22 when submitted the CV, but she turned 23 when the training started.

Hi dearmarintan..may i know which one is better ? CX or qatar? Tq

    • dearmarintan May 5, 2011 at 4:45 PM Reply

Hi won, your question is too general and I can’t answer it correctly. Plus I’ve never worked for both airlines.

However, if you want comparisons, I can give you some clues. Based on Skytrax World’s Airlines Awards 2010, Qatar Airways is placed on the 4th while Cathay Pacific is on the 5th.

Qatar Airways is stated as the winner for categories of The Best Airline in the Middle East and The Best in Business Class.

While Cathay Pacific is stated as The Best Airline in Transpacific Region. This rank always changes every year and Cathay was awarded as The Best Airline of the Year 2009 by Skytrax.

Both of the airlines hire multinational crew from all over the world, men and women. They are also well-known for their excellent service which is why they never ousted from the world’s best airlines top 5 rank.

That’s all I can say. If you’re not yet satisfied with my reply, I suggest you to do some online research on both airlines.

Dearmarintan .. Well ..I was quite satisfied with your answers..thx..=)
Have u ever worked in the airline?
Actually i’ve got invitation at CX..but it’s my first..so i don’t know what supposed to do..any suggestion for me?and need to wear suit and tie for men?thx

    • dearmarintan May 5, 2011 at 5:36 PM Reply

Dear Won, I have never worked for any airlines before but I’ve attended several cabin crew interviews. Plus, I have some cabin crew friends who encourage me to go for this dream job.

It’s okay if you’ve never attended any cabin crew interviews before. A lot of first-timers are blessed with luck and they get this job! So no need to worry about anything as long as you’re confident and presentable. Show them that you’ll be a benefit if chosen to work for the airline.

About attire, I think you have to suit yourself appropriately for this job. Business attire is a must. Some commentators have given clues about what to wear on the previous article entitled “Calling Out Invited CX Wannabes Here!” Please read them thoroughly.

I’ll give some tips before the interview soon. So I suggest you to check this blog regularly or subscribe it via email. Thank you very muchšŸ™‚

@Meeran: you should try, they don’t state any particular nationality, anyway no harm of trying since you are there

@dearmarintan: Just now I recheck again the recruitment http://www.qatarairways.com/global/en/cabincrew-events/singapore.html, and I was shocked because they change the age limit to 21, not my luckšŸ˜¦
